DeKalb County has implemented a plan to continue senior services after our 10 year provider, Senior Connections Inc., closed its doors, on June 30.
Beginning July 1, Open Hand Atlanta began providing congregate and home-delivered meals. In-home senior services now will be provided by Jo Jo Home Healthcare Providers Inc. and Rem-Kits Health Care Services Inc.
Adult day care and respite care will be an additional service provided by Rem-Kits Adult Day Care Services Inc.
Senior center management and case management services will be provided by DeKalb’s Department of Human Services’ Office of Aging.
The transition plan was approved by the Board of Commissioners in June. The DeKalb Department of Aging is also conducting a senior aquatics assessment process to explore new ideas for swimming programs for seniors.
